FEATURED EXPERTS
Paul Bourgine
Paul Bourgine is the honorary director of RNSC, the French National Network of Complex Systems, former director of the CREA laboratory at Ecole Polytechnique, and founder of the Complex Systems Institute, Paris. He is one founder of the Complex Systems Society (CSS) as well as of the Complex Systems Digital Campus (CS-DC) and an UniTwin (University Twinning) toward research and education on complex systems science and sustainable development. The UniTwin has now 145 Universities in 45 countries.
Guido Calderelli
I am Full Professor of Physics at Ca' Foscari, and a LIMS Fellow.
I have studied Statistical Physics and I have got my degree in 1992 in Rome (La Sapienza), my PhD in 1996 in Trieste (SISSA). After Postdocs in Manchester and Cambridge I became firstly "Research Assistant" in INFM and secondly "Primo Ricercatore" at ISC-CNR where I am still working with many friends and colleagues. From 2012 to 2020 I have been Professor at IMT Lucca
In 2019 I have been one of the founders of SIFS
From 2018 I am the President of the Complex Systems Society
From 2016 I am in the board of the SNP Division of European Physical Society
Cyrille Bertelle
Cyrille Bertelle is Professor in Computer Science at the University of Le Havre, Normandy, France . His research interests are Complex Systems Modelling and Simulation. He is a Co-founder of ISCN – Institute of Complex Systems in Normandy.
David Chavalarias
David Chavalarias is the director of the Complex Systems Institute of Paris Ile-de-France (ISC-PIF - http://iscpif.fr). Researcher at theCNRS in France, he studies the social and cognitive dynamics. His research is strongly interdisciplinary and includes: quantitative epistemology, information visualization, modelling of the cultural dynamics, socio-semantic networks modelling, scientific discovery processes and cognitive economics.
Manlio De Domenico
I am a physicist studying integrated real-world Complex Systems (biological, socio-technical, communication and economic networks) and their complex dynamics, to understand how multiplexity and interdependencies lead to emergent collective phenomena and resilience to perturbations
Alfredo Morales
I am Assistant Professor at NECSI and Visiting Scholar at MIT Media Lab. Passionate in understanding complex, social behaviors by analyzing (big) data from social media and alternative sources, using networks, AI and machine learning.
Analysis of social dynamics across scales: from global societies down to cities and organizations. Transforming data into visualization, understanding and strategy

Hiroki Sayama
Hiroki Sayama is the Director of the Center for Collective Dynamics of Complex Systems (CoCo), at Binghamton University, State University of New York. His research interests include complex dynamical networks, human and social dynamics, collective behaviors, artificial life/chemistry, and interactive systems, among others.

The Chapters Workshop is a collaborative space that seeks to integrate the knowledge, experience, and diversity of the Complex Systems Community.

This meeting aims to strengthen the capacities and leadership necessary to work on our organizational mission and vision.

Based on the CSS recommendations to organize local chapters, experiences on how such guidelines can be adapted to the different national or regional contexts to be as inclusive and efficient as possible. Priorities of actions that could be set up will be discussed. Feedback from existing chapters and initiatives will be reported.
The objectives of the workshop are:
-
To share national specific issues
-
To share best practices on Chapter-specific development and governance issues
-
To create synergies between Chapters
-
To strengthen the community

CONTRIBUTION
